BEHIND THE NOISE
(BTN) has been developed by industry professionals and is delivered via a series of workshops, rehearsals, recording sessions and industry open days. It culminates in a run of live shows at ‘The Classic Grand’ music venue in Glasgow.
WHEN IS IT?
BTN usually starts in September or October and runs through to the end of April. You will be notified of the full timetable once we complete registration for the coming year. Typical sessions and workshops are around 2 hours long and are held on Saturdays or Sundays. Each group will be allocated a regular time slot and will attend once or twice each month throughout the project.
WHERE IS IT?
All sessions take place at locations within Glasgow city centre. Workshops are at The Academy Of Music and Sound, Jamaica St. Rehearsals are at Berkeley Studios in Lancefield St. Recordings happen at The Doghouse on Queen St. and live shows are held at The Classic Grand on Jamaica St.
HOW MANY PUPILS TAKE PART?
BTN expect over 100 pupils to take part. Ideally 8-12 pupils from each school. NOTE – We’re looking for a variety of pupils from S4, S5 and/or S6 who are interested in music, art & design, photography, social media, event management and promotion.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
It’s free! Thanks to the support of your local authority and Creative Scotland’s YMI fund, there is no charge to any pupils.
I HAVE LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND/OR MOBILITY ISSUES. CAN I STILL TAKE PART?
Absolutely, there are no barriers to accessing BTN. Please ask your teacher to inform us of your support needs or contact us directly here.
